Ontology Monthly Report — February 2022

Ontology published its MainNet Upgrade Announcement. We will soon complete the EVM integration, which will provide the most extensive virtual machine and ecosystem support yet.

Developments/Corporate Updates


Development Progress


  • We have launched the Ontology EVM TestNet and it is expected to be integrated into the Ontology MainNet on February 28.
  • We have completed the truebit challenge design survey.
  • We are 75% done with the Rollup VM design.
  • We are 50% done with the Bridge design and development from NFTs on the NeoVM to NFTs on the EVM on Ontology.


Product Development


  • ONTO App v4.1.9 was released, bringing support for the Solana Ecosystem and adding the App Lock feature.
  • ONTO hosted various online activities such as the NFT lottery campaign with Samurai, Haku Swap, Spartan Protocol, Celestial and iSwap. Participating in ONTO will earn rewards such as NFTs. Follow the @ONTO Wallet Official Announcement in Telegram for more details! 

On-Chain Activity


  • As of February 23, 2022, there have been 125 dApps launched in total on MainNet.
  • There have been a total of 6,899,699 dApp-related transactions completed on MainNet, an increase of 34,199 dApp-related transactions compared to the past month.
  • There have been a total of 17,089,200 transactions completed on MainNet, an increase of 126,001 transactions compared to the past month.


Community Growth & Bounty


  • This month, several Ontology Community Calls on Discord were held as usual, focusing on topics such as “Does Ontology realize interoperability?” and “More uses of DID”, Ontology Harbingers shared the current progress of Ontology EVM.
  • We held several Telegram Community Discussions, led by Benny, an Ontology Harbinger from our Asian community. He discussed with community members about the progress of the Valentine’s Day special event and a practical liquidity mining strategy.

Out & About — Event Spotlight


It was all hands on deck this month with a string of news and developments:


  • Ontology published the DAO 101 series on Twitter, discussing a key point in DAO governance: how reputation can help improve governance.
  • Ontology cooperates with the famous media outlet Blockster, where users can now keep up-to-date with Ontology news via the Blockster platform. Based on the Blockster platform, Ontology will further expand its influence to reach more potential partners.
  • Coin Rivet, a well-known blockchain media outlet, published an article, “Web3 will transform the internet we know today, says Ontology founder”. Ontology’s founder Li Jun said “Web3 refers to the next era of the internet, a decentralised online ecosystem built upon blockchain, where data is collectively stored.”
  • Coin Rivet also interviewed Gloria Wu, Ontology’s Chief of Global Ecosystem Partnerships, and published an article “Blockchain has endless benefits, says Ontology’s Gloria Wu”. In it, Gloria says “By using blockchain technology and secure identity solutions built on blockchain, we can combat data breaches and place the control back in the hands of self-sovereign individuals.”
